It's Granola!

Hello all hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and New Year, all back to normal now.
Today i wanted to show you how i make Granola. I don't follow a recipe, i don't weigh things out its just a quick and easy was to make a nice healthy snack that i pick at throughout the day.
Obviously you can add more nuts of your choosing, fruit, chocolate what ever you fancy, but this is what i do.

Ingredients:-
Pistachio
Almonds
Oats
Golden Syrup
Chocolate

Granola (just nuts and oats no chocolate)
Firstly Pre heat the oven to approx. 170/180 degrees on a fan assisted oven, you will need to keep an eye on it as every oven is different.
You will want to get a flat baking tray with some baking paper on it.
I get my pistachios and almonds and begin to chop them into what ever size you like (i like mine quiet finely chopped as you can see here)

Chop until happy with size.
Then get yourself a mixing bowl with the oats in it, i normally do up to double the amount of oats to nuts, you don't need to get your weighing scales out just eyeball it, give all your dry ingredients a quick mix then i get the Golden Syrup and put some into the bowl, add a little at a time you don't want your mixture to become to wet you just want it so all the dry ingredients gets covered and everything is sticking together. A couple good squirts usually does the job.
Get your mixture and place in onto the baking tray, level the mixture out over the tray so you have a nice even layer to bake. Put your tray in the oven for 10 minutes. Don't forget to keep an eye on it.
After ten minutes you will want to take your tray out and give your Granola a mix, we do this so the edges don't get brunt and every bit gets a chance to be baked and become nice and golden brown. Once you have given it a mix about pop it back into the oven for a further 10 minutes but you will want to keep an eye on it as it can brown pretty quickly at this point. Once you are happy with the colour of you Granola i usually do leave it in the oven for a total of 20 minutes (10 minutes, mix then a further 10 minutes) take it out the oven and leave to cool, once cooled you can enjoy how you wish. You will get some nice crunchie pieces and some that still have a little gooeyness about them but my favourite bits are the crunchier ones.

Granola with added chocolate
Thats how i usually cook my Granola but today i want to add some chocolate to it so here goes.
So do everything the same up until you add your Golden Syrup but before you add your syrup add your chocolate to your dry mixture, i got 12 squares of dairy milk chocolate and chopped it up and added it into the dry mixture then added my Golden Syrup you will then want to continue as above.

So here is the final result, what do you all think? The only thing i would say is i should have put more Golden Syrup in it but i ran out! School boy error i know ahh well it still tastes good the only thing it would have done is make some bits of the Granola bigger but it still is good honest!

It's Granola!
And as always here is a picture of the boys.
