The one after the personal training sessions.

Well i have now had a few personal training sessions and I've got to say i love it! After my very first session oh my god i could not move, i could hardly put my arms over my head. So putting on clothes well lets just say i struggled.
But in all honesty it felt good, it felt good to be working out, to be doing something, to have made that first step in making that call to even book the sessions.

I feel comfortable with my trainer and the sessions go well. At first i was hesitant it was going to be a male trainer but he's really nice and gets me working and that's what i need when I'm finding it hard to do those last few sit up he's there pushing me on and each week get easier. Now I'm not saying its easy and i walk away feeling like i haven't worked out but i mean i can finish my workout to its fullest and still feel like i have worked out!
When he comes to mine we do a session that has be designed for me and it can be different from week to week to keep me guessing and when i have no trainer i have my own step by step guide for a different workout to do by myself. Its harder to motivate yourself I'm going to be honest there but if you want it you will do it.
I wear workout leggings, trainers, T-shirt and jacket if its cold i also have to wear a sports bra. To be honest i wear my normal bra with a sports bra on top, i need to make sure there strapped down well. You all know what i mean ladies.

If i can give you any advice it would be to bite the bullet, do it. You won't regret it you will even begin to enjoy it. Trust me i never thought id be that person to sit here and say i enjoy working out. Now i don't weigh myself i don't want to know, i just want to feel and see the difference in myself. But my PT does also help with food if i do wish to have that help but at this point i can't see myself becoming a health nut i do try new things more so now then i ever did but my diet is not all that great and if i cut it all out at once i can see myself just craving it and being miserable, so i have decided i will cut down on some food and look at portion size and maybe even look at doing a food diary my PT says even if i don't do the diary for them to see and just for myself it will help for me to see whats going on day to day and realise what i really do eat.

I hope your all doing well and if you have any questions about this or anything then let me know.

Here's the token puppy picture. How cute are they?

Week off and Thursday blues

This week i have had the week off work and every time i do i try and do a mixture of relaxing and getting stuff done, seeing friends etc but is it just me that when you get to Thursday your like omg where has my week gone I've done nothing and only have days left until i have to be back at work. I then end up thinking i don't want to cram everything into the next few days and not have any time to chill but I'm now in a quandary what do i do? Chill at home surfing the web and watching movies I've just brought or do i make the most of the free time i have left arghhhhh.

I just wondered if this was just me? Do you all feel the same? Do you go back to work wishing you had done more or had more time to relax?

Ive had a lovely week off so far don't get me wrong it just the Thursday feeling and i wanted to share my thoughts with you.

Keeping fit and sticking with it.

Hi everyone how have you all been? I've been thinking a lot lately, I know that can be dangerous but just keep with me for a second, I want to try and the word being try to lose some weight, tone up, cut out some of the crap food and exercise more. Knowing me as well as I do I get bored very quickly or I procrastinate and just say to myself I'll do it later and later never happens or say I've had a long day at work and I'm tired. So...... I thought if I put these thoughts out there for someone to see it may make me more determined to stick with it. I just thought it's worth a try and I was going to keep you upto date as much as I could with what's happening, how it's going and how I feel. So that's that.

I have hired a personal trainer for at least 10 sessions and i will hopefully be starting within the week. I feel i need someone to keep me on the right track and I'm also trying to cut out some of the crap food i eat, i can't go into this cutting out all food i like i will just crave it all the time and will not be happy. There may be a point where i will but for now I'm just cutting down and looking at portion size. If any of you have any helpful suggestions then please let me know.

I found my PT through the internet and she has been very good so far, initially i spoke to her on the phone, she then sent me some forms to fill out and she will look at those forms and decide on the right workout routine/sessions for me and then she has someone she works with come to mine (as she's really busy and fully booked herself) and he will then help me see the session through and she will also give me things to do when I'm on my own. The PT sessions will be Wednesday, Saturday then just Saturday the following week and we are going to see how that goes.
The sessions will be held at my home as i didn't want to go to the gym.
At first i wanted a woman PT but she was booked up and i just thought if I'm going to do this i just need to get a grip and do it! So i did i said ok to a male PT, some of you may think whats the issue but when you already feel self conscious about the way you look having a man see you not at your best well for me its a bit intimidating but I'm up for it.

Anyway wish me luck and once i have had my first session i will let you know how it goes and how i feel.

I totally forgot to add in a picture of the boys so i had to come back and edit it in. So here you go.
It wouldn't be the same otherwise ;)

It's Granola!

Hello all hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and New Year, all back to normal now.
Today i wanted to show you how i make Granola. I don't follow a recipe, i don't weigh things out its just a quick and easy was to make a nice healthy snack that i pick at throughout the day.
Obviously you can add more nuts of your choosing, fruit, chocolate what ever you fancy, but this is what i do.

Ingredients:-
Pistachio
Almonds
Oats
Golden Syrup
Chocolate

Granola (just nuts and oats no chocolate)
Firstly Pre heat the oven to approx. 170/180 degrees on a fan assisted oven, you will need to keep an eye on it as every oven is different.
You will want to get a flat baking tray with some baking paper on it.
I get my pistachios and almonds and begin to chop them into what ever size you like (i like mine quiet finely chopped as you can see here)

Chop until happy with size.
Then get yourself a mixing bowl with the oats in it, i normally do up to double the amount of oats to nuts, you don't need to get your weighing scales out just eyeball it, give all your dry ingredients a quick mix then i get the Golden Syrup and put some into the bowl, add a little at a time you don't want your mixture to become to wet you just want it so all the dry ingredients gets covered and everything is sticking together. A couple good squirts usually does the job.
Get your mixture and place in onto the baking tray, level the mixture out over the tray so you have a nice even layer to bake. Put your tray in the oven for 10 minutes. Don't forget to keep an eye on it.
After ten minutes you will want to take your tray out and give your Granola a mix, we do this so the edges don't get brunt and every bit gets a chance to be baked and become nice and golden brown. Once you have given it a mix about pop it back into the oven for a further 10 minutes but you will want to keep an eye on it as it can brown pretty quickly at this point. Once you are happy with the colour of you Granola i usually do leave it in the oven for a total of 20 minutes (10 minutes, mix then a further 10 minutes) take it out the oven and leave to cool, once cooled you can enjoy how you wish. You will get some nice crunchie pieces and some that still have a little gooeyness about them but my favourite bits are the crunchier ones.

Granola with added chocolate
Thats how i usually cook my Granola but today i want to add some chocolate to it so here goes.
So do everything the same up until you add your Golden Syrup but before you add your syrup add your chocolate to your dry mixture, i got 12 squares of dairy milk chocolate and chopped it up and added it into the dry mixture then added my Golden Syrup you will then want to continue as above.

So here is the final result, what do you all think? The only thing i would say is i should have put more Golden Syrup in it but i ran out! School boy error i know ahh well it still tastes good the only thing it would have done is make some bits of the Granola bigger but it still is good honest!

It's Granola!
And as always here is a picture of the boys.
Humphrey. Don't feel sorry for him he likes laying in random places.
Stanley chose to ignore me.
